They should have supported a Labour / Liberal Alliance.
News just in, that David Cameron and his minority Tories have struck a deal with the Liberal Democrats to govern Britain for the next little while.
In my opinion, their Tories would have been better off supporting (quietly of course) a new Government composed of the 2nd and 3rd place finishers.
Why you ask?
It has to do with piggs and included in their number is the UK and for that matter, all Euro Nations - save for the olde West Germany.
Simply stated, Britain is broke. Its debt to GDP ratio of 100%, is just slightly smaller than Greece.
A majority Government is needed to deal with the gargantuan task of balancing Britain's financial books. And the Tories lack that majority.
To try to deal with the situation in minority status is simply unworkable and to try to do that supported by a liberal leaning 3rd Party is shear folly.
The Tories only hope now is that their new Government falls quickly otherwise they will be branded with the mess that is in the process of befalling a once great nation.
And the contagion is spreading. The United States too faces a '100% debt' and they also show no signs of curbing their unrestricted spending.
Things are starting to move quickly as the recent rise in the price of Gold can attest.
It seems that we, in the Western World, are all living in a dream world. A world that is in the process of collapse.
How desperately we are all in need of a Margaret Thatcher or a Ronald Regan.
We have seen the violence that has erupted in Greece when they felt that their 'entitlements' were in jeopardy. We will too have such an experience when our turn comes? And our turn is surely coming, unless drastic steps are taken now to significantly roll back spending.
We here in Canada, are held out to be fiscally prudent and yet our debt is approaching $600 billion and our deficit is a record levels. In addition, Program spending far exceeds the CPI. And this during a time of Conservative Government, albeit in Minority status.
As an aside, thanks to our abundant natural resources, we can soon expect our dollar to be on par or greater than the Pound, the Euro and the American Dollar. But that in itself won't save us from collapse.
As I see it...
